Gemeinde Rödelsee

An old, restored, typically Franconian home of craftspeople and winegrowers has been turned into a museum to show what life was like in the good old days. Almost all the original household goods have been preserved, such as the furniture, the stove, the pots etc. The heart of the building is the fully equipped smithy at the entrance. The house also features a remarkable vaulted cellar, and the yard offers another rare sight – the original earth closet (outhouse).

Opening hours:
May to October: Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 2 to 6 p.m. and by appointment
Guided tours, including demonstration of a blacksmith’s work if possible, for groups of up to 20 persons by appointment (in German)
