Gemeinde Rödelsee

Schwanberg near Rödelsee is a very special hill. Not only because of the famous vineyard sites on its slopes, but also thanks to the spiritual aura surrounding it.

The theme trail “Wein und Wahrheit”, let’s call it “Wine and Worship” in English, is about 3 km long and illustrates in 9 places the relationship between wine and religion. Inspired by traditional piety columns or wayside shrines, these digital columns show smartphone QR codes for detailed information (in German) on the hilltop abbey and its legend, the “hermitage” at the forest edge, the Franconian wine patron saints, the Jewish cemetery etc. The trail ends in the middle of Rödelsee near the two churches.
